What we believe

What we believe about God and our purpose in life determines everything else we do in life. This cottage industry began with the intent to help ladies dress in a way that honors the Lord and brings glory to His name. While we realize that many viewing this site have received Jesus Christ into their hearts and lives, we also realize that some may never have heard the amazing plan of salvation and redemption that God has made available for everyone. So we will attempt to explain in as simple terms as possible, Who God is, and how we are able to come into a right relationship with God through faith in His atoning sacrifice for our sins made possible through His Son Jesus Christ.

Who is God? God is our Creator; the One Who has no beginning and no end, eternal in essence, and all powerful. He is love, merciful and good, while at the same time, He is righteous, holy, and just. God, because he is holy, cannot tolerate sin. Sin entered the world when Satan, the father of lies, tempted Adam and Eve, the first created beings on planet earth, and their yielding to him, and disobeying God’s command, infested the entire human race with the inborn nature to sin.

The essence of sin is pride and rebellion against God. The essence of salvation is submission to God.

God created us to have a personal relationship with Him and to praise and glorify Him. However, because of our sin, that relationship was not possible. Sin broke our ability to relate with a Holy God who cannot tolerate sin.

Fortunately that is not the end of the story. In spite of our sinfulness, in His love, He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us. A sinless sacrifice is the only sacrifice acceptable to a Holy God. Jesus left His home in heaven and lived here on the earth, fully Divine and at the same time fully human. He lived a sinless life. He proved that He was very God Incarnate through the many miracles He performed, and then He was crucified on the cross at Calvary, all for our sins. He could have escaped the cross; He still had all the power in the world to do so. But He gave His life willingly to take our sins upon Himself and give us His righteousness so that we could be found blameless in God's sight. Three days after Christ died and was buried; He was raised to life again, by God's power. Now He is in heaven, sitting at the right hand of God's throne.

Christ's death and resurrection took care of our sin problem. Salvation is a gift. There is no way that we can earn salvation by our own merits or good works, it is only attained through faith in Jesus Christ. But this gift needs to be personally received. Only when we confess our sins and ask God to forgive us and cleanse us with His atoning blood, and give us His righteousness, can we personally benefit from His sacrifice on our behalf. However, if we do not, we will continue to remain guilty before God and when we die, we will go to hell, a place of eternal destruction. But if we do receive Jesus Christ, we will be forgiven. We will take on His righteousness, receive his Holy Spirit, and our hearts will be made new, alive in Christ, now desiring the things that please God. True, we will still make mistakes and sin at times, but by asking God to forgive and renew us, we will be free from habitual and purposeful sin. And best of all, when we die, we will go to heaven and live forever with God. This is truly the best news the world has ever known!

These truths are from the Word of God, the Holy Bible. They are the truths we base our earthly lives upon and the truths we trust for the destiny of our eternal souls.

So how do you "receive Christ"?

1. Admit that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:10)

2. Be willing to turn away from sin to follow Christ. (Acts 17:30)

3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead. (Romans 10:9,10)

4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour and your Lord. (Romans 10:13)

What to pray:

Dear God,
I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His sinless blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin and allow You to be Lord over my life. I now invite Jesus Christ to come into my very heart and life as my personal Saviour.

If you have prayed that prayer sincerely, and committed your life to Jesus Christ, you have now entered the kingdom of God. You have become a child of God, a part of God's family! God is now your father and you have a personal relationship with Him!

Learning to know Christ is a life-long process. Here  are some things you can do to grow in your relationship with Him:
Read the Bible.
Fill your mind with the Truth every day.  Talk to God in prayer every day.  Be baptized, worship God, and find friends who love the Lord.  Become involved in a Bible-believing, Christ-centered church. Tell others about Jesus and what He's done in your life.

Do you have questions about receiving Christ or how to walk with Him? If you do, call or email us, we'd love to help you. Telling others about salvation is our primary goal.
